The Publicart.fi website provides up-to-date information on implementation methods and public art projects for artists, commissioners of works of art, developers and other professionals working in the field of public art.

The website is maintained by the Artists’ Association of Finland in cooperation with the Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike), Ornamo Art and Design Finland, the Association of Finnish Sculptors, the Information Centre for Finnish Architecture (Archinfo), the Finnish Association of Architects (SAFA) and the Association of Finnish Architects’ Offices (ATL).

Competitions

Our website provides information about open competitions and calls for public art that comply with the competition rules or guidelines by the Artists’ Association of Finland, the Finnish State Art Commission, Ornamo or SAFA.

Find more information about services related to art competitions here. Competition rules provide a flexible basis for art competitions of different scopes. The commissioner’s requirements are taken into account when approving competition programmes. There are a variety of competition models: in addition to open competitions and invitational competitions, an art competition can be organised as a restricted call for proposals or a call for portfolios.

We also publish announcements for international competitions if Finnish artists are eligible to participate. Read more.
